Project Sanjeevani was initiated to capitalize on the soaring global demand for organic moringa nutraceuticals while establishing a climate-resilient commercial model on semi-arid marginal land. Mac Agro spearheaded the complete project lifecycle across 65 acres:
Soil Reconditioning & Planning: Pre-planting interventions converted degraded, low-organic-carbon soil into nutrient-dense land using mass applications of enriched vermicompost, mycorrhizal fungi, and green manuring (Sunhemp).
High-Density Planting System: Established the superior PKM-1 annual moringa variety at an intensive 1m × 1m spacing designed specifically for multi-cut biomass and leaf canopy yield rather than drumstick pod formation.
Precision Water Management: Deployed automated subsurface drip irrigation paired with solar-powered pumping systems, reducing overall water consumption by 48% compared to surface irrigation while preventing weed establishment.
Biological Pest & Disease Control: Implemented non-chemical IPM using neem cake soil incorporation, yellow sticky cards, light traps, and bi-weekly foliar applications of bio-formulations (Beauveria bassiana and cold-pressed botanical extracts) to satisfy strict European Union Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs).
On-Farm Processing Facility: Designed an on-site, GMP-compliant processing unit equipped with automated ozone bubble washing, closed-loop low-temperature heat pump dehydrators (preserving maximum chlorophyll and polyphenol levels), stainless-steel pulverizers, and vacuum packaging lines.
Harvest Cycle & Output: Achieved an initial harvest within 90 days of seeding, followed by consistent pruning and cutting cycles every 45–50 days, generating over 120 metric tons of export-grade, micro-milled organic moringa leaf powder per annum.
